Words do not exist to fully express how compelling Evelin Kasikov’s embroidery design is to me. Any designer who has stared into a loupe over an offset printed page knows exactly what I’m talking about, but the concept of recreating halftone imagery for a specialized effect is not new. What is new is taking that concept and rendering it perfectly with a medium so unexpected it’s astounding no matter how many times you look at it. Kasikov’s work isn’t just creative, or well executed; it’s near perfect. Not only does the imagery come off exactly as she intends, but the symmetry of each “dot” is superb. I’m in awe of Kasikov’s work and I hope to see more of it soon. Thanks to ColourLovers for bringing it to our attention
