The Two Sisters of Two Tone Press are Too Good

Ah, how I love wordplay... Anyway, so are you in the mood for some killer, yet unpredictable letterpress work? That's good because I'm shoving Two Two Press down your throat for the moment, but I promise, it will taste delicious. Two Tone is a letterpress shop out of Kansas City, started by Michelle Dreher in 2005. Things were going so well, they broke up open doors and knocked down walls on a new space in 2010. In 2011, Dreher convinced her sister Angie to join forces. I met both ladies at Renegade LA, and despite the country-wide travelling from show to show, and weeks away from home, they both had really bright smiles and eager to talk to me about the work. I'm a big fan now, and in retrospect, I'm a bit disappointed in myself for not buying something from them because the work is right up my alley. Is the Last Bastion of Hope Lost?

Even though print seems to be flourishing in some areas, it is dying in others, as is the case with Aardvark Letterpress and McManus & Morgan Paper in downtown Los Angeles. Their business is drying up and they aren't sure how long they will be able to hold out, but hold out they will until there is nothing left to holdout for.
