Facebook is great. It helps me stay in touch with family in friends in a way I never had before. It also helps me build a following far beyond the reach of this blog, but we don’t operate our businesses on Facebook. In order to get people to get people to become followers of our blogs, readers of our newsletters or buyers of our products, we need to find ways to get our followers off Facebook and onto whatever website we want them to be visiting.

I recently shared some of my best tricks on the Fresh Rag Newsletter for how I get people from the Facebook page onto this website. One reader asked if the information was posted on the blog for him to share with his friends, so here is my top five tips for converting Facebook fans to customers.

  1. Always use a photo or video in your Facebook posts.
  2. Always post a link to your website with any status update, photo or video.
  3. Keep your web address above the fold.
  4. Send people to your best converting pages.
  5. Always give a call to action.

Now, if you want the full details of these 5 tips, you’ll have to subscribe to the Fresh Rag Newsletter, which you can do by putting your name and email address in the box below. This is just one of the many tips I share to newsletter subscribers, so get on in there and Join the Fresh Rag Army Today.

Thanks for posting were we can share!

  2. Yeah, it’s great tips… But how to get more likes for your blog fan page?

    • Ah, definitely a subject worth discussing. I cannot say I am an expert at getting more fans to my Facebook page, but perhaps I can find a specialist to come in and talk about it.

      Thanks for swinging by.

  3. Great post Dave! I started using big pictures for my posts a couple of months ago and have definitely seen an increase in fans, likes and engagement. I try to include a call to action but not in every post as I worry people will get tired of it. So I try to use it wisely and have noticed that I do get better results when I do. So that’s good!

    • Jen, that’s right, I definitely alter the message each time, and don’t always have a call to action, but you definitely have to get them in there occasionally.

  4. Thank you for sharing such simple and powerful tools, Dave…I’m doin’ my best and appreciate all the help to get ever better…I have loads of room for improvement on traffic and conversions! ;)
